Have you ever wondered why some people buy from you and others don’t? Every human being goes through a decision making process to eventually get to that stage. Watch this video to learn about the process to understand how you can influence towards a purchase.
Hi, everyone.
Have you ever wondered why customers choose your competitors over you? or what do people actually go through when they're actually making a decision?
Well, wonder no more, let me share with you. Everybody goes through a decision-making process, regardless of what product it is.
So phase one is you realize you have a need. Let's say it's 12 o'clock, and you're suddenly hungry. Well, you have a need for food.
Phase two is about information gathering. Let's say you ask around to see what others are having, and you also tap into your memory for past experience. Or you may just choose to just wander around and see what captures your eyes.
Phase three, then your brain crunches all the information, and you come to a decision. Let's say, "Aha, today I've decided I'm going to have a poke bowl because I feel like something fresh, and I know that particular store has fresh salmon instead of the frozen one."
You simultaneously actually decide how you're going to buy. Let's say it's a beautiful day, and it's Friday, so I decide I'm going to have the food in-store, but if I had a deadline or if it was raining, maybe I'll have it delivered.
So all these phases, sometimes they can merge and you don't realize that you actually go through phases or it happens so fast that you really don't realize that you're going through phases.
So if you want customers to choose you over your competitors, have a closer look at the decision making process and see how you can influence your customers at each of these phases.
Hope that helps.
